In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Rabindranath Chatterjee of TMC won in this constituency beating Shyama Majumdar of BJP by a margin of 9155 votes which was 4.11% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Rabindranath Chatterjee of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Shyama Majumdar of INC by a margin of 911 votes which was 0.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Rabindranath Chatterjee of INC won this seat defeating Sudipta Bagchi of CPIM by a margin of 27525 votes which was 14.76% of the total votes polled for the seat.
