In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Nabin Chandra Bag of TMC won in this constituency beating Bijan Mandal of BJP by a margin of 20886 votes which was 9.67% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Nabin Chandra Bag of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Asima Roy of CPIM by a margin of 3202 votes which was 1.63% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Nabin Chandra Bag of CPIM won this seat defeating Alok Kumar Majhi of TMC by a margin of 13147 votes which was 7.27% of the total votes polled for the seat.
