In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Ajay Kumar Poddar of BJP won in this constituency beating Ujjal Chatterjee of TMC by a margin of 679 votes which was 0.4% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ujjal Chatterjee of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Ajay Kumar Poddar of BJP by a margin of 19488 votes which was 11.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ujjal Chatterjee of TMC won this seat defeating Acharya Maniklal of AIFB by a margin of 28566 votes which was 20.65% of the total votes polled for the seat.
