This constituency covers an approximate area of 407 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Madarihat is: 26°44'49.2"N 89°10'46.9"E.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Manoj Tigga of BJP won in this constituency beating Rajesh Lakra of TMC by a margin of 29685 votes which was 18.07% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Manoj Tigga of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Padam Lama of TMC by a margin of 22038 votes which was 14.47% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Kumari Kujur of RSP won this seat defeating Manoj Tigga of BJP by a margin of 7909 votes which was 5.94% of the total votes polled for the seat.
