In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Gias Uddin Molla of TMC won in this constituency beating Dhurjati Saha (Manas) of BJP by a margin of 46941 votes which was 24.45% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Gias Uddin Molla of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Khalid Ebadullah of INC by a margin of 15889 votes which was 9.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Giasuddin Molla of TMC won this seat defeating Dr. Abul Hasnat of CPIM by a margin of 11970 votes which was 8.43% of the total votes polled for the seat.
