In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Apurba Chowdhury (Achal) of TMC won in this constituency beating Rana Protap Goswami of BJP by a margin of 22337 votes which was 10.46% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Chowdhury Siddiqullah of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Choudhury Sahajahan of CPIM by a margin of 11874 votes which was 6.06% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sahajahan Choudhury of CPIM won this seat defeating Apurba Chaudhuri of TMC by a margin of 126 votes which was 0.07% of the total votes polled for the seat.
