In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Abhijit Roy of TMC won in this constituency beating Shyamapada Mondal of BJP by a margin of 12075 votes which was 6.14% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Abhijit Roy of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Arup Bag of CPIM by a margin of 38770 votes which was 21.09% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Asok Ray of CPIM won this seat defeating Jatil Mondal of TMC by a margin of 6520 votes which was 4.09% of the total votes polled for the seat.
