In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, June Maliah of TMC won in this constituency beating Samit Kumar Dash of BJP by a margin of 24397 votes which was 10.38% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Mrigendra Nath Maiti of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Santosh Rana of CPI by a margin of 32987 votes which was 15.48% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Mrigeneraldra Nath Maiti of TMC won this seat defeating Santosh Rana of CPI by a margin of 28220 votes which was 14.9% of the total votes polled for the seat.
