In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Madhusudan Bhattacharya of TMC won in this constituency beating Bhismadeb Bhattacharya of BJP by a margin of 23078 votes which was 10.63% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Begum Nargis of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Debashis Ghosh of CPIM by a margin of 8883 votes which was 4.36% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Abul Hasem Mondal of TMC won this seat defeating Debashis Ghosh of CPIM by a margin of 3178 votes which was 1.72% of the total votes polled for the seat.
