In 2016, Sajal Panja of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Chaudhuri Md. Hedayatullah of CPIM by a margin of 706 votes which was 0.37% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Chowdhury Md Hedayatullah of CPIM won this seat defeating Abu Ayesh Mondal of TMC by a margin of 3298 votes which was 1.9% of the total votes polled for the seat.
