In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Yeasmin Sabina of TMC won in this constituency beating Shyamchand Ghosh of BJP by a margin of 56573 votes which was 35.14% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Yeasmin Sabina of INC was the winner in this seat beating Md. Najrul Islam of TMC by a margin of 38174 votes which was 28.61% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sabina Yeasmin of INC won this seat defeating Naimuddin Sheikh of CPIM by a margin of 6020 votes which was 5.59% of the total votes polled for the seat.
