In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Dr Mosarraf Hossain of TMC won in this constituency beating Debasish Roy of BJP by a margin of 98246 votes which was 45.4% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Abdur Rahaman (Liton) of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Ali Mortuza Khan of INC by a margin of 280 votes which was 0.14% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Nure Alam Chowdhury of TMC won this seat defeating Elahi Kamre Dr of CPIM by a margin of 4403 votes which was 2.7% of the total votes polled for the seat.
