In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Gouri Sankar Ghosh of BJP won in this constituency beating Shaoni Singha Roy of TMC by a margin of 2491 votes which was 1.1% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Shaoni Singha Roy of INC was the winner in this seat beating Ashim Krishna Bhatta of TMC by a margin of 25139 votes which was 12.5% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Shaoni Singha Roy of INC won this seat defeating Bivas Chakraborty of AIFB by a margin of 6352 votes which was 3.88% of the total votes polled for the seat.
