In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Rajendra Prasad Singh (Raju Singh) of TMC won in this constituency beating Tapas Kumar Yadav (Ananda Yadav) of BJP by a margin of 56905 votes which was 27.65% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Moinuddin Shams of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Dipak Chatterjee of AIFB by a margin of 10328 votes which was 5.61% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Abhijit Mukherjee of INC won this seat defeating Dipak Chatterjee of AIFB by a margin of 15160 votes which was 9.77% of the total votes polled for the seat.
