In 2016, Shyamali Pradhan of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Gadadhar Hazra of TMC by a margin of 25730 votes which was 12.34% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Gadadhar Hazra of TMC won this seat defeating Shyamali Pradhan of CPIM by a margin of 5863 votes which was 3.14% of the total votes polled for the seat.
