In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Dr Ratna De Nag of TMC won in this constituency beating Partha Sharma of BJP by a margin of 31858 votes which was 14.38% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Amjad Hossain Sk. of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Saiyad Rahim Nabi of TMC by a margin of 1392 votes which was 0.66% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Amjad Hossain Sk. of CPIM won this seat defeating Nargis Begum of TMC by a margin of 397 votes which was 0.22% of the total votes polled for the seat.
