In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Nirmal Ghosh of TMC won in this constituency beating Sanmoy Bandyopadhyay of BJP by a margin of 25177 votes which was 14.64% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Nirmal Ghosh of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Sanmoy Bandyopadhyay of INC by a margin of 3030 votes which was 1.84% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Nirmal Ghosh of TMC won this seat defeating Ahibhusan (Dulal)Chakraborty of CPIM by a margin of 31432 votes which was 20.76% of the total votes polled for the seat.
