In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Biplab Roy Chowdhury of TMC won in this constituency beating Debabrata Pattanayek of BJP by a margin of 9660 votes which was 4.9% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sk Ibrahim Ali of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Biplab Roy Chowdhury of TMC by a margin of 4767 votes which was 2.61% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Biplab Roy Chowdhury of TMC won this seat defeating Amiya Kumar Sahoo of CPIM by a margin of 13167 votes which was 8.05% of the total votes polled for the seat.
