In 2016, Samir Kumar Jana of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Phanibhushan Giri of INC by a margin of 13793 votes which was 6.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Samir Kumar Jana of TMC won this seat defeating Jajneswar Das of CPIM by a margin of 14773 votes which was 8.11% of the total votes polled for the seat.
