Nuruzzaman of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Pratim Singha Roy of INC by a margin of 29127 votes which was 14.14% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Parvez Rahman of TMC won this seat defeating Saumendranath Bera of CPIM by a margin of 31690 votes which was 16.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.
