This constituency covers an approximate area of 419 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Rampurhat is: 24°08'26.5"N 87°40'09.1"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 82.51%, while it was 85.6% in 2016, and 86.19% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Asish Banerjee of TMC won in this constituency beating Subhasis Choudhury (Khokan) of BJP by a margin of 8472 votes which was 3.96% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Asish Banerjee of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Syed Siraj Jimmi of INC by a margin of 21199 votes which was 10.84% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Asish Banerjee of TMC won this seat defeating Rebati Bhattacharya of AIFB by a margin of 10238 votes which was 6.25% of the total votes polled for the seat.
