Aranghata, Bahirgachhi, Dutta Fulia, Jugalkishore, Kamalpur and Raghunathpur Hijuli-II GPs of CDB Ranaghat-II 2. Bagula-I, Bagula-II, Mamjoan, Ramnagar Bara Chupria-I and Ramnagar Bara Chupria-II GPs of CDB Hanskhali

This constituency covers an approximate area of 253 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Ranaghat Uttar Purba is: 23°15'34.9"N 88°39'32.0"E.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Ashim Biswas of BJP won in this constituency beating Samir Kumar Poddar of TMC by a margin of 31782 votes which was 14.96% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Samir Kumar Poddar of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Babusona Sarkar of CPIM by a margin of 14972 votes which was 7.73% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Samir Kumar Poddar of TMC won this seat defeating Archana Biswas of CPIM by a margin of 31192 votes which was 18.29% of the total votes polled for the seat.
