This constituency covers an approximate area of 257 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Rejinagar is: 23°50'41.6"N 88°12'41.0"E.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Rabiul Alam Chowdhury of TMC won in this constituency beating Arabinda Biswas of BJP by a margin of 68268 votes which was 32.68% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Rabiul Alam Chowdhury of INC was the winner in this seat beating Humayun Kabir of IND by a margin of 5560 votes which was 3.01% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Humayun Kabir of INC won this seat defeating Sirajul Islam Mondal of RSP by a margin of 8761 votes which was 5.62% of the total votes polled for the seat.
