Samserganj Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Murshidabad district in the North Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. Dhulian (M), 2. Bhasaipaikar, Bogdadnagar, Chachanda, Dogachhi Napara, Nimtita, Pratapganj and Tinpukuria GPs of CDB Samserganj

This constituency covers an approximate area of 60 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Samserganj is: 24°38'17.2"N 87°57'38.9"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 80.05%, while it was 81.92% in 2016, and 86.35% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Amirul Islam of TMC won in this constituency beating Zaidur Rahaman of INC by a margin of 26379 votes which was 11.2% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Amirul Islam of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Touab Ali of CPIM by a margin of 1780 votes which was 1.12% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Touab Ali of CPIM won this seat defeating Mousumi Begum of INC by a margin of 7789 votes which was 5.92% of the total votes polled for the seat.
