In 2016, Kalipada Mandal of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Amitabha Chakraborty of INC by a margin of 26586 votes which was 13.06% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Kalipada Mandal of TMC won this seat defeating Minati Pramanik of AIFB by a margin of 34619 votes which was 19.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.
