In 2016, Dr. Sudipta Roy of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Subhankar Sarkar of INC by a margin of 9907 votes which was 5.78% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Dr. Sudipto Roy of TMC won this seat defeating Partha Sarathi Rej of CPI by a margin of 51691 votes which was 33.83% of the total votes polled for the seat.
