In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Aroop Biswas of TMC won in this constituency beating Babul Supriyo of BJP by a margin of 50080 votes which was 25.67% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Aroop Biswas of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Madhuja Sen Roy of CPIM by a margin of 9896 votes which was 5.1% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Aroop Biswas of TMC won this seat defeating Partha Pratim Biswas of CPIM by a margin of 27680 votes which was 15.13% of the total votes polled for the seat.
