In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Bidesh Ranjan Bose of TMC won in this constituency beating Pratyush Mandal of BJP by a margin of 17126 votes which was 8.97% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Haider Aziz Safwi of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Sabiruddin Molla of CPIM by a margin of 16269 votes which was 9.51% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Haider Aziz Safwi of TMC won this seat defeating Mohan Mondal of CPIM by a margin of 19584 votes which was 13.2% of the total votes polled for the seat.
