A total of two Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Gondiya constituency, which are: Tirora, Amgaon. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Vinod Agrawal of IND won in this constituency beating Agrawal Gopaldas Shankarlal of BJP by a margin of 27,173 votes which was 12.98% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Agrawal Gopaldas Shankarlal of INC was the winner in this seat beating Agrawal Vinodkumar of BJP by a margin of 10,758 votes which was 5.49% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Agrawal Gopaldas Shankarlal of INC won this seat defeating Kuthe Rameshkumar Sampatrao of SS by a margin of 9,971 votes which was 6.11% of the total votes polled for the seat.
