A total of two Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Nawapur constituency, which are: Nandurbar, Sakri. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Tapi district of Gujarat.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Naik Shirishkumar Surupsing of INC won in this constituency beating Sharad Krushnarao Gavit of IND by a margin of 11,155 votes which was 05.12% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Naik Surupsing Hirya of INC was the winner in this seat beating Gavit Sharad Krushnarao of NCP by a margin of 21,817 votes which was 11.02% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Gavit Sharad Krushnarao of SP won this seat defeating Naik Surupsing Hirya of INC by a margin of 1,695 votes which was 0.96% of the total votes polled for the seat.
