This constituency covers an approximate area of 1291.58 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sabalagadh is: 18°11'30.1"N 76°54'16.2"E.

A total of three Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Nilanga constituency, which are: Ausa, Ahmadpur, Udgir,. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Bidar district of Karnataka.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Nilangekar Sambhaji Diliprao Patil of BJP won in this constituency beating Ashokrao Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar of INC by a margin of 31,929 votes which was 16.18% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Nilangekar Sambhaji Deeliprao Patil of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Ashok Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar of INC by a margin of 27,511 votes which was 14.2% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Nilangekar Patil Shivajirao Bhaurao of INC won this seat defeating Nilangekar Sambhaji Diliprao Patil of BJP by a margin of 7,504 votes which was 4.1% of the total votes polled for the seat.
