A total of three Assembly constituencies in the state of Maharashtra share borders with Savner constituency, which are: Katol, Ramtek, Hingna,. This constituency shares an inter-state border with Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh.

In 2014, Kedar Sunil Chhatrapal of INC was the winner in this seat beating Vinod Bapuraoji Jivtode (Guruji) of SS by a margin of 9,209 votes which was 4.93% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kedar Sunil Chhatrapal of INC won this seat defeating Deshmukh Ashish Ranjit of BJP by a margin of 3,472 votes which was 1.98% of the total votes polled for the seat.
