Haryana will vote in a single phase on October 5, 2024. The state has 90 Assembly constituencies, 17 of which are reserved for Scheduled Castes. The tenure of the current Assembly ends on November 3, 2024. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had won successive elections in 2014 and 2019, emerging as the single largest party in both occasions. A total of 2.04 crore electors are eligible to vote in the election to the state assembly. Key election issues include the Agnipath scheme, farmers' protest demanding legal guarantee for MSP, and sexual assault allegations levelled by wrestlers from the state. The counting of votes is scheduled for October 8, 2024.
