In 2014, Jagbir Singh Malik of INC was the winner in this seat beating Dr Krishan Chander Banger of INLD by a margin of 3,228 votes which was 2.76% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Jagbir Singh Malik of INC won this seat defeating Atul Malik of INLD by a margin of 13,016 votes which was 15.68% of the total votes polled for the seat.
