In 2014, Shakuntla Khatak of INC was the winner in this seat beating Ram Avtar Balmiki of BJP by a margin of 3,972 votes which was 3.12% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Shakuntla of INC won this seat defeating Naga Ram of INLD by a margin of 27,860 votes which was 30.31% of the total votes polled for the seat.
