In 2014, Zakir Hussain of INLD was the winner in this seat beating Aftab Ahmed of INC by a margin of 32,796 votes which was 26.73% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Aftab Ahmed of INC won this seat defeating Sanjay of BJP by a margin of 16,904 votes which was 19.48% of the total votes polled for the seat.
