R Siva

Ragavapillai Siva, a prominent DMK leader in Puducherry, is contesting from Villianur constituency. He plays a key role in the DMK’s campaign as part of the Congress-led alliance and currently serves as the 13th Leader of the Opposition in the Puducherry Legislative Assembly.

He was first elected to the Puducherry Legislative Assembly in 1996, representing the Orleampeth constituency, and continued serving as a member from 1996 to 2011 and again from 2016 to 2021. In the 2021 elections, he was elected from the Villianur constituency and was appointed Leader of the Opposition on May 8, 2021.

As the formal Leader of the Opposition in the outgoing assembly, Siva has been the primary institutional challenger to the Rangasamy government over the past five years. He has led DMK's Puducherry unit's coordination efforts with Congress and has been a key figure in the INDIA bloc's alliance negotiations in the UT, including chairing alliance meetings at DMK headquarters.
