In 2014, Mahipal Dhanda of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Dhara Singh Rawal of IND by a margin of 36,132 votes which was 23.32% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Om Prakash Jain of IND won this seat defeating Bimla Kadian of INLD by a margin of 6,636 votes which was 6.91% of the total votes polled for the seat.
